Wonderful Weekends

This weekend my best friend came up from Salt Lake and we went to the Allred concert here in Logan. It was so amazing! Allred is so...real. He is a real person and he considers what some call 'fans' his friends. I genuinely like him as a person separate to how I feel about his music, if that makes sense. Anyway so I also got to check off No. 19 on 'my list'.

Oh! Saturday morning was awesome too! I went with a dear friend of mine, Krystal, to the Logan temple. A temple visit hasn't effected me in that way for the longest time and it was so sweet to me.

I am very much excited for this week! I am dreading a lot of things, but I need to look on the bright side. Sunday we had an amazing Relief Society lesson that even some our leaders got to experience. Its called Sensing Christ. Also I started my 'Walk With Christ' last weekend. The fact that General Conference is so close makes it all the better! What a wonderful life. :)

One thing that I wasn't planning on sharing, but I guess I will, but at the moment I am invoation of one of the things on my list. I am working to fix it and it will take time. After leaving the fieldhouse I had a new confidence that I can do it. With the support of friends, family, and of course a Father in Heaven that loves me dearly.

True Love???

A recent institute class has been on my mind a lot. I am currently taking the preparing for eternal marriage class and the subject was on true love. Like usual the direction of the class went some where I was not expecting and I learned something completely new. One of the main points that my teacher made was that love is a verb, an action not a noun. It made sense and I believe that it is true. Well this week I have listened to lyrics to the love songs I hear on the radio, songs my roommates listen to, and quotes from movies. I have yet to find a song or relationship from a movie that shows love as an action not a noun. Of  course all of the songs about Christ's love for us will speak of this true love, but those don't count. I'm talking about the love we are all looking for here on earth from someone of the opposite gender we want to share eternity with. Please, if you find a song that truly describes this kind of love, share :) I will be forever grateful and it will give me some small hope that someone out there writing love songs to all of the girls out in the world knows what they are talking about.

...

After posting this I started listening to Love Me Dead by Ludo. That song MIGHT count... haven't really decided. Anyways, so keep searching...I will be.

Spring Break- Take Two

Today was just one of those days. I feel gross, but I have so much to catch up on I've been trying all day to get stuff done. I either end up falling asleep (even in my car, but I wasn't driving) or just constantly lose concentration. I've been so miserable and I couldn't put myself through more miserable homework so at 8:30 I just gave up. I ended up looking at pictures and figured that there is probably someone that actually reads my blog other than myself that has been dying to see more pictures from Spring Break. So for whoever that is, this blog is dedicated to you :)

So last you heard Carrie and I had emptied the fridge, filled our tummies, and were on the road to my house in Salt Lake. We went to the singles ward there, which was fun but weird, then it was back on the road to St. George.

In St. George (this is Sunday night) we visited with Carrie's family. Her aunt and uncle were so sweet to let us crash on their couch for a few nights. Sunday night we also went to the CES fireside. There was NO ONE at the church. Okay, that's an exaggeration, there were people there but compared to Logan the chapel was practically empty.

Carrie's aunt had a beautiful, bright garden in front of the house. Carrie and I went crazy that not only could we see the grass, but that it wasn't dead and we didn't have a need to wear a jacket.

Monday-
Shopping. That's pretty much all we did that afternoon. It originally was just going to be window shopping at the outlets, but hey-we're on spring break so give me a break ;) It started out with, "let's get some sunglasses." Then, "I don't have any sweatpants!" And finally, "Carrie, you look too good in that shirt not to buy it!"
No makeup Monday for me :)
Carrie stylin' in her amazing sunglasses and gorgeous shirt. :) What a beauty!
Monday I liked to say that "we went from pine trees to palm trees!"
Our new shades.

Later on Monday we also played games with Carrie's cousins. They were so much fun and I really do miss them.

Tuesday was, I think, the real start of our crazy busy days ahead. We did baptisms at the St. George temple with Carrie's cousin, Pete, then headed north for 2 hours to Carrie's hometown, Milford. On the way to Milford we stopped by SUU to visit some friends.

Tuesday afternoon, after arriving in Milford, we played with the kids in town at the park, played piano, and I mentally prepared myself for the days ahead. During the whole trip I was in awe that all the weeks of planning were over and we were actually going to visit more than half the temples in Utah!
 Carrie and friend at SUU.

Kids at the playground! So cute. For me it turned into reflecting on my childhood and the amazement of how fast time is going by.
Chris, Carrie, and I at a friend's. And yes someone has already mentioned that this picture makes it look like Carrie and I are dating...well we aren't.
Singing to hymns on the piano.

I have been to a small town before, but Milford was definitely a SMALL town! Reminded me of the old western movies I watched with Dad growing up. Good times.

-Soon to come-

Carrie and Alex have visited their first temple on their temple adventure of a lifetime. Soon they will be on the road headed towards Salt Lake yet again. Will Carrie's new car get a flat? Will they be given the wrong directions from Google Maps and get lost? Will the temple be closed when they arrive? Until next time :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

50 Days...50! 50 days until my last final and then its summer!!  Its amazing to think that one year ago I was still a wee tike in high school. The grown up world is pretty fun so I will say that I don't miss high school other than my friends that I had there. As time continues to fly by I pray that I will use it for the best. 100 years is not a long time to live. Sometimes I wish that I had more time to grow closer to Christ to ensure that I make it to Him when my time is up.

I know that I need to post something about Spring Break, but there was just so much I want to put into the post that I will probably have to wait to post it when I have more time...I should be studying for chemistry right now...

Hope you all remembered to wear green, I did. :)

1st & 2nd Days of our Utah Temple Adventure

Carrie, my roomie, and I decided for Spring Break we would go to as many temples in Utah possible. Over the course of 4 or 5 days we will go to about nine temples!

We started our adventure on Wednesday when we went to the Logan Temple for our weekly visit, then today (Saturday) we spent all morning packing and putting our luggage in Carrie's new car! We love 'Darla'.

Where is everyone?!

 Our fridge is empty!

Temple picture on Wednesday (sorry pics are not in chronological order).

Breaking Dishes

First of all I hope my mother is not reading this ;)
So on my list of 101 Things... one of them was to break a dish. Well check that! I was really frustrated one night and decided to step outside and throw the one plate that I have on the street. It shattered of course, but it wasn't quite as epic as I thought it would be. So now I am plateless, but not stressed so there you go!
1 down 100 more to go.
